🔑 Essential Access

Usernames & Email Addresses

All students at Neston High School are provided with a personal username and email address to access the school’s IT systems. These details are usually given during your first IT lesson.

Your School Email Address

Student email addresses follow this format:

username@ed.nestonhigh.com

Example: 18thingwallt@ed.nestonhigh.com

What Your School Account Is Used For

Your school email and password give you access to a wide range of systems, including:

Logging into school computers on site
Signing in to a school-loaned laptop
Accessing your Outlook email account
Using Microsoft Teams
Working with Microsoft Office apps (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
Signing into third-party apps that support Microsoft login (e.g. Educake)

Password Information

Your password is the same one you use to log into school computers.

If you forget your password

Ask any teacher to help reset it
Parents or guardians can request a reset using the form in the section below

Verification Codes

When signing in, you may occasionally be asked to verify your identity using a code sent to your school email account.

Downloading Microsoft Teams

If you are using a personal device, please download and install Microsoft Teams if it is not already installed. Teams is available for:

Windows
Mac
iPhone/iPad (iOS)
Android

Although Teams can be accessed through a web browser, we strongly recommend using the Teams app for the best experience.

Logging in to Microsoft Teams

Username / Email Address

Students should log in using their school email address.

All students are provided with a school email account during their first IT lesson at Neston High School.
Student email addresses follow this format:

username@ed.nestonhigh.com

Example: 18thingwallt@ed.nestonhigh.com

Password

Your Microsoft Teams password is the same password used to log in to school computers.

💡 Please note:

If you change your password in school, it will also change for Microsoft Teams and other Microsoft services.
If you change your password at home, the new password will also be used when logging in at school.

If you have forgotten your password, any member of staff can help arrange a reset. Parents and carers can also request a password reset using the form below.

Verification Codes

When signing in, Microsoft may ask you to verify your account by entering a code sent to your school email address.

To access your school email, log in to Outlook using your school email address and password:

Use your school computer password to sign in

All staff and students at Neston High School can download and install the full Microsoft 365 suite on their personal devices, including laptops, tablets and smartphones, using their school account. This is in addition to the online versions of Microsoft Office available through a web browser.

Installing Microsoft 365 on a PC or Mac

Visit https://m365.cloud.microsoft/apps
Sign in using your school email address and password.
Click Install apps (usually located in the top-right corner of the page).
Select Microsoft 365 apps.
Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.

The download and installation process may take some time, depending on your internet connection. Once installed, open any Microsoft 365 application and sign in with your school email address and password to activate your licence.

Installing Microsoft 365 on a Tablet or Smartphone

Open your device's app store (Apple App Store or Google Play Store).
Download the Microsoft app(s) you wish to use, such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, or Outlook.
Sign in using your school email address and password when prompted.

💡Important Information

Microsoft 365 will automatically connect to your school OneDrive account. If you also use a personal Microsoft account and OneDrive on the same device, we recommend creating a separate user profile on your computer, such as School or Work.

This helps keep personal and school files separate and reduces the risk of saving documents to the wrong location.

Shared Devices

If multiple students use the same computer, laptop or Mac, it is strongly recommended that each student has their own user account on the device. This helps protect personal files, settings and Microsoft 365 data, while ensuring each user has access to their own school account and OneDrive storage.

Reset School Account Password (Teams, Email & other Microsoft Apps)

Reminder for Students and Parents: Microsoft Account Passwords

Please note that the password students use to log in to school computers is the same password used for their Microsoft 365 account. This includes access to services such as Microsoft Teams, Outlook, and other Microsoft apps both in school and at home.

If a student changes their password in school, it will also change for all Microsoft services at home.
If the password is changed at home, it will also apply to logging in at school.

Please ensure students are aware of this when updating their password.

⚠️ Important Information About Password Resets

Once a password reset request has been submitted and processed, the student will be locked out of their account until they set a new password.

To regain access, the student must:

Use the temporary password provided.
Follow the instructions to create a new password.

What is Arbor?

Arbor Student Portal is an online system that allows students to:

View upcoming events
Check their classes and timetable
Monitor attendance
Review behaviour records
Access examination timetables

You will need your school email address to access Arbor. Student email addresses follow this format:

Logging in to Arbor

Once your Arbor account has been set up, you can log in at any time.

Go to https://neston-high-school.uk.arbor.sc
Enter your school email address. (e.g. 18thingwallt@ed.nestonhigh.com)
Enter the password you created when you first registered for Arbor.

Forgotten Your Password?

If you cannot remember your Arbor password:

Click Forgot your password? on the Arbor login page.
Enter your student email address (e.g., 18thingwallt@ed.nestonhigh.com).
Open your student email account:

Outlook (Student Email)
Log in with your student email address (e.g., 18thingwallt@ed.nestonhigh.com) and your normal computer password.
Open the password reset email from Arbor and follow the instructions provided.

First Time Login

If this is your first time using Arbor, you will need to set up your account.

Visit the Arbor website: https://neston-high-school.uk.arbor.sc
Click First time logging in in the bottom-left corner of the login page.
Enter your school email address. (e.g. 18thingwallt@ed.nestonhigh.com)
Check your school email account for an email from Arbor.
Outlook (Student Email)
Open the email and click the link provided.
Create a password for your Arbor account.
Accept the terms and conditions to access your Arbor dashboard.

Once you have logged in successfully, we recommend saving the Arbor website to your favourites or bookmarks for quick access in future.
