Day-to-Day

Lockers and Valuable Items

Lockers

Every student gets a locker to store books, PE kit, and coat during the school day. Most lockers need a padlock, so please provide a small padlock for your child. Lockers will be assigned on induction day.

Valuables

The school cannot take responsibility for lost items. Students must look after their own property. We advise against bringing valuable items to school.

Mobile Phones

We understand students may need mobile phones for safety while travelling to and from school. However, phones must be turned off and not used during the school day. If this rule is broken, phones may be confiscated and kept in the school office until the end of the day.

Lost Property

All items brought to school including uniform, should be clearly named, items can then easily be identified and returned. PE kit should be embroidered with your child’s name in their house colour.  If students misplaces any of their belongings, if they have a name label then they will be returned to the child's tutor base.  Items without labels will be put on display outside the school office each Friday.   Due to limited storage space unclaimed lost property will be donated to local charity organisations at regular intervals.

First Aid and the First Room

The school has a well-equipped first aid room where your child can go for first aid if needed.  If your child is taken ill or has an accident during the school day, you will be contacted and your help sought in arranging for your child to be taken home or accompanied to hospital.

Equipment

We expect your child to arrive at school each day, fully equipped. A well stocked pencil case is essential for good learning to take place.  Sensible items to have in a pencil case would include:

  • a pen
  • highlighter pen
  • glue stick
  • biros
  • pencils
  • a ruler
  • eraser
  • sharpener
  • pencil crayons
  • Protractor and compass Calculator
  • Casio fx-85GT PLUS or the newer Casio fx-85GTX Classwizz calculator

Students use Microsoft Teams to access homework.

All students  should have a reading book and water bottle with them each day.
