Attendance

Neston High School places great importance on attendance and punctuality. It has been proven through numerous studies that students who have good attendance achieve well and develop important social skills. Neston High School expects that students will have at least 97% attendance.

At Neston High School, we believe that absence from school has a significantly detrimental impact on both academic outcomes and vital social skills such as resilience. A student on 90% attendance at the end of an academic year will have missed 98 hours of learning, which of course has a negative effect on their ability to achieve the outcomes of which we know they are capable.

We believe that every student can achieve great things, and that our community is stronger together, with all of our pupils in school, on time, every day. We are building life skills, life-long friendships and preparing your child for future success. To this end, we also reward and celebrate high and improving attendance to school through termly reward events.
