Get involved- Walk. Ride. Thrive
Your chance to Get Involved in Cheshire West and Chester Council’s Walk. Ride. Thrive Campaign
Cheshire West and Chester Council is launching its 'Walk. Ride. Thrive' campaign to encourage more people to enjoy a summer of active travel.
The borough has seen a dramatic fall in traffic volume and air pollution during the coronavirus pandemic, with walking and cycling playing an increasingly important role in people's lives. Continuing to use these active modes of transport will also support the ambition to be a carbon neutral borough.
The government recently announced a package of funding to help keep people walking and cycling in a safe way during our recovery from the coronavirus crisis.
Initiatives the council are considering include things like:
• widening pavements
• one-way streets
• removing through traffic on certain roads
• adding extra cycle lanes
• removing street clutter at pinch points.
