Neston High School remembers

During this year’s remembrance commemorations, students and staff of Neston High School participated in a school remembrance service.
Students and staff paid the upmost respect during the service, which included poems read by our Headteacher, Mr Simpson, Head Students: Ben Turnbull, Erin Mckinstry, Dana Keenan and Cerys Pryce and Mr Edwards, Teacher of RE.
Students who are part of uniformed youth organisations including RAF Air Cadets, Army Cadets, Police Cadets, CCF (Royal Marine) Cadets and Scouting took centre stage on our own parade. Our thanks to the students for participating.
Wreaths were laid during the service by our head students. During a smaller service at the front of school, our uniformed students, head students, headteacher and Mr C Randerson (former Deputy Headteacher) laid wreaths and held a small silence to commemorate the fallen.
Our field of crosses and fallen soldiers which commemorates the fallen was a centre piece during this year’s acts of remembrance. This was created by Mrs Purcell and Ben Turnbull in the lead up to the remembrance service.
Finally, Neston High School was well-represented in the main Neston remembrance service which took place in Neston, on remembrance Sunday. Many students paraded as part of their uniformed organisations and Ben Turnbull made a reading alongside Rev Alan Dawson on behalf of the school.
Our thanks go to Mr K Smith, who organised the remembrance service and all other staff and students who have played a part in organising and making our remembrance service so respectful and commemorating.
