Spelling Bee Interview
Congratulations to Madison Moore the 2018 Spelling Bee Winner
Q: Congratulations on winning the year 7 spelling bee. How did it feel to win?
A: It didn't sound right! I was really shocked. I didn't think I was going to make it to the winning place!
Q: How did you prepare?
A: I always use a dictionary to help improve my spelling. I have a really bad memory and it hard to concentrate on the letters.
Q: Were you nervous on the day of the final?
A: I was shaking so much...I was super nervous. I didn't think I was going to make it, but when I received the news that I had won, I flipped out in happiness.
Q: How will you celebrate your win?
A: I don't know really; maybe my family have something up their sleeves for me!
Q: Do you have any tips for students aiming to improve their spelling?
A: My tips would be to have confidence and stick with it. Also when spelling, try to say the word before you write it down.
Q: Where are you going to keep that huge trophy for the year?
A: It will be in my room.
Q: Can you tell us a fun fact about yourself please?
A: I have never been on a plane nor a train.
Q: What is your favourite word?
A: I think it would be 'unilluminated' or 'attractive'.
