At Neston High School we promote a highly inclusive, supportive environment where each of our students can flourish. The Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) Department is an integral part of supporting our students to develop and progress academically, personally and socially. We firmly believe that provision for students with SEND is the responsibility of the whole school and our ambition for all our young people with SEND are central to this.

Students may need extra support due to a variety of reasons here at Neston High School. We aim to help to remove any barriers to a student’s learning and provide them with the support they need during their time with us. We are dedicated to ensuring that students are supported in an inclusive way through a range of provisions which enable them to achieve the best possible outcomes and reach positive destinations in their adult lives.

As a highly inclusive school with a large and diverse population of learners with SEND, our inclusive curriculum enables us to support our students to become independent learners with a wealth of life skills to prepare them for their Post-16 courses, and beyond.

Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) support at Neston High School follows a Graduated Approach to meeting the additional needs of our students.

THE HIVE:

Wirral’s Youth Zone, named by young people as The Hive, is a state-of-the-art space for young people aged 8 – 19, and up to 25 for those with disabilities..

There’s something for every young person here.  From getting active in our sports hall, kick pitch, gym or boxing studios, to sessions in our music room with built-in recording suite, getting creative in the arts and crafts space, expressing yourself in the performing arts studio, tackling the climbing wall, working on your moves in the skate park, planting in the garden, cooking up a storm in the training kitchen or getting competitive in the gaming area – there’s a huge range of activities for young people to jump into.  When they need a break, there are loads of places at The Hive to chill out, chat with friends and grab a bite to eat.

Carers Trust Cheshire and Warrington:

The lead provider of the Cheshire West Carers Support Service (CWCSS), working across Cheshire and Warrington to provide support to unpaid carers. We work in partnership with other local organisations to deliver the best possible package of support to carers.

Cheshire and Warrington Carers Trust was established in 1995 to provide information, advice and support for unpaid carers across Cheshire and since 2013 offering limited services in Warrington. We have offices in Northwich, Chester and Crewe. We are a network partner of Carers Trust giving us links to over 100 over local carers organisations.

Parent Carer Forum Cheshire West and Chester:

We are a voluntary group of Parents & Carers in Cheshire West & Chester who have children / young people with special education needs and / or disability (SEND.)  We all have different backgrounds, experiences and knowledge.
