Ofqual guidance GCSE & GCE qualifications

Dear Parents/ Carers

We understand that these are anxious times for all of us and from an education perspective particularly for our Year 11 and Year 13 students who are awaiting clarity of how their exam grades will be awarded.  Today Ofqual have released first guidance and advice regarding GCSE and A level exams for 2020 and how they will be awarded.  We are still awaiting information regarding other general, vocational and technical qualifications.   Alongside information for schools and colleges, they have produced a letter and guidance for students and parents which you will find attached to this communication.

The release of this information and guidance has been received by school’s nationally at the same time as it has come out to students and their families, and I will therefore now work with my colleagues to ensure that we provide a fair and accurate outcome for all of our young people so that they may follow the most appropriate pathway post Year 11 or Year 13.

Thank you for your ongoing patience and understanding and I will be in touch as soon as we have further information.

Kindest regards and keep safe
