Email to Parents/Carers - COVID19 Update (13/03/20)

Dear Parents / Carers

Following the announcement by the government last night regarding COVID19 moving into the ‘delay’ stage, we continue to follow national guidance around the way we as a school manage this situation, thereby we remain open as directed.

We are currently receiving daily updates from the Department of Education and Local Authority.

Under this planning we have decided for the welfare of all members of our community to take the following action:
• Year 7 Parents’ Evening has been postponed to Thursday 18th June 2020 – all booked appointments will be transferred over to this new date and further information will be forwarded to you.
• Year 7 Easter Service scheduled for 1st April 2020 will be cancelled.
• End of Term Awards scheduled for 2nd April 2020 will be re-considered but no large ceremony will take place for parents to attend.

In addition to this all non-essential trips/events and activities are being reviewed and further information will be provided to those parents/carers it affects.

In the meantime, please ensure you follow, and encourage your children to follow, the advice from Public Health England with regards to self-isolation and hygiene precautions. Please see the link below for self-isolation guidance – our staff are not able to provide any further medical advice, please refer to 111. As a school, precautions such as additional cleaning on high touch areas (e.g. door frames/banisters) is taking place.

We are also aware that it is reported that donations to Food Banks have significantly decreased and that this could affect local families. We are starting a school collection point if you are able to donate anything.
