Year 9 Battlefields Trip

Today students are visiting a number of memorial sites, including Thiepval; this memorial to the missing carries the names of over 72,000 men of the British and South African Army who were killed in this area, mostly in The Battle of the Somme between July and November 1916.

Students here at Essex Farm listening to Mrs Clive read the poem 'In Flanders Fields' by Dr John McCrae who worked in the Medical aid station during World War One.

Last night, students attended the Last Post Ceremony at the Menin Gate Memorial.
Ben Spilsbury and Amy Leadbetter laid a wreath on behalf of Neston High School, accompanied by two cadets, Alfred Wood and Matthew Grindle.
